David Layton Valentine (born 1973) is a geochemist, microbiologist, science communicator. Valentine is Distinguished Professor of Geochemistry and Microbiology in the Department of Earth Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), where he holds the Norris Presidential Chair. At UCSB, he directs the Valentine Lab.
