Debbie Spillane is a 70 year old Australian Journalist. Born Deborah Elizabeth Spillane on 25th December, 1955 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, she is famous for her career in the field of sports reporting and was a fixture on ABC television and radio programs for more than three decades, including becoming the first woman to be hired as a full-time sports broadcaster by ABC in 1984, and serving as the sideline reporter for ABC's rugby league coverage, in addition to becoming the first woman to commentate cricket on ABC Radio, working on commentary teams at Olympic and Commonwealth Games, being media manager for Canterbury Bulldogs rugby league club and the Sydney Kings National Basketball League team and being the first woman to call A-League football (soccer), as well as hosting ABC’s iconic radio sports show Grandstand, and co-hosting the drive time program Hard Coffee with Ian Rogerson for Triple J from 1990 to 1995 in a career that spans 1984–present. Her zodiac sign is Capricorn.
