Denis Edmund Cosgrove (3 May 1948 Liverpool – 21 March 2008 Los Angeles) was a distinguished British cultural geographer and Alexander von Humboldt Professor of Geography at the University of California, Los Angeles. Before this, he was Professor of Human Geography and Dean of the Graduate School at Royal Holloway, University of London. In 1998, he received the prestigious Back Award from the Royal Geographical Society.
