African American singer Ilene met Dennis, Diana Dors estranged husband, during her tenure performing at London's Pigalle Nightclub. They were reported as having a whirlwind romance and were quickly engaged. He proposed with a sapphire ring surrounded by diamonds. Alas, the wedding was not to be.
