Richard Jack Spady (October 15, 1923 – January 10, 2016) was a co-founder and the namesake of Dick's Drive-In. He was born in Portland, Oregon, attended Oregon State University, and moved to Seattle after military service in World War II and the Korean War. In 1954, with two partners whose shares he later bought out, he opened the first Dick's Drive-In in Seattle's Wallingford neighborhood.
