DALTON, Pa., July 25— Mr. and Mrs. William Warren Scranton have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Susan Scran ton, to Richard Anthony Wolf, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Wolf of New York.
Mr. Scranton, former Gov ernor of Pennsylvania, is chairman of the President's Commission on Campus Un rest. The prospective bride groom's father, president of Plaza/Wolf, a division of The Plaza Group in New York, a diversified mer chandising corporation, was formerly senior vice presi dent of Lennen & Newell, Inc., advertising agency. The prospective bridegroom is a copywriter with Jack Tinker & Partners in New York.
The wedding is planned for Sept. 5 at Marworth, the family home here, formerly owned by the bride's grand parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Worthington Scranton. The late Mrs. Scranton, the former Miss Marion Margery Warren, was vice president and chairman of the Re publican National Committee.
Miss Scranton, who met her fiance at a Halloween party in October in New York, is a graduate of the Madeira School, attended Connecticut College for two years and formerly worked in the Washington bureau of Time Inc. as a researcher. She plans to work in New York after her marriage. Last year, she and two girl‐friends hitch‐hiked across parts of Africa and sailed down the Congo River.
Mr. Wolf, who attended Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass., was graduated from the Gunnery in Washington, Conn., and received a B.A. degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania in 1969.
