Details
Duan Pidi (died 321) was a Duan-Xianbei chieftain during the Jin dynasty (266–420) and Sixteen Kingdoms period. He became a Jin vassal in 314, fighting against Han Zhao and then Later Zhao. He collaborated with the other Jin vassals, Liu Kun and Shao Xu, and was considered the most powerful of them all during the late 310s. However, after betraying Liu Kun, his power dwindled, and in 319, he was living under Shao Xu's domain. In 321, he was handed over to Shi Le (who by then was King of Later Zhao), and despite his initial showing of respect for the captured Duan, Shi had him executed for insolence some time later. His name can be rendered as Duan Pixi.
