French Socialite Élisabeth, comtesse Greffulhe was born Marie-Joséphine-Anatole-Louise-Élisabeth de Riquet de Caraman-Chimay on 11th July, 1860 in Paris, France and passed away on 21st Aug 1952 Lausanne, Switzerland aged 92. She is most remembered for One of the main inspirations for the character of the Duchesse de Guermantes in Marcel Proust’s "À La Recherche du Temps Perdu" (the classic 7-volume French serial novel).
