Elisabeth Francisca Maria “Elly” Coenen-Vaessen (26 February 1932 – 8 April 2020) was a Dutch VVD politician and mayor of Nuth (1986–1997) who fought for emancipation. She was mayor until her retirement in 1997. She was born in Bocholtz and died, aged 88, in Heerlen.
