Emir Caner (born August 25, 1970) is the eighth president of Truett McConnell University, a private Baptist university in Cleveland, Georgia. On June 6, 2025 the Board of Trustees of Truett McConnell University placed Caner on administrative leave while allegations of mishandling sexual abuse complaints at the school were investigated. Since 9/11, he and his brother Ergun Caner have been credited with playing a significant role in cultivating Islamophobia and Christian nationalism in the evangelical Christian community.
