Eric Boehlert (December 6, 1965 - April 4, 2022) was a media critic and writer who founded Press Run. Prior to this he was a senior fellow at Media Matters for America for ten years and a staff writer for Salon for five years. Before that he wrote about the music industry as a contributing editor to Rolling Stone and as a staff writer at Billboard. At Salon Boehlert won the 2002 American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers' Deems Taylor Award for music journalism, for a series of articles in 2001 on the radio industry. The series was also shortlisted for the Gerald Loeb Award for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism.
