His books include the critical biography The Words and Music of Van Morrison (Greenwood Publishing Group/Praeger, 2009) and the work of literary criticism Cormac McCarthy: A Literary Companion (McFarland & Company, 2010), which was deemed "indispensable," "engaging," and "highly recommended" by Choice, the magazine published by the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL).
