Gerald "Jerry" Lawrence Shargel (October 5, 1944 – July 16, 2022) was an American defense attorney whom was based in New York City and had been a member of the New York Bar since 1969.. He had nonetheless been disqualified on at least one occasion from representing clients due to being regarded as “in house counsel”, with the known occasion being the 1991–1992 trial of John Gotti and Sammy Gravano.
