Dr. Gerard Goggin is an Australian Research Fellow who focuses on Internet, mobile phones, telecommunication and disability research. He is currently a professor of Digital Communication, and Deputy Director of the Journalism and Media Research Centre at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. Dr. Goggin obtained his BA in Melbourne, Australia and was in the top percentage of his class receiving high honors (Hons). His Ph.D. was received from the University of Sydney for a thesis entitled Turbulent Preceptors: Mentoring, Maternity and masculinity in Mary Wollostoncraft, William Godwin and Percy Bysshe Shelley.
