Chester was convicted of the stabbing murder of LaJean Eldridge, age 26 Oct 12, 1959, in Del Rio Texas. Both were there playing parts in John Wayne's, The Alamo. Smith was sentenced to 30 years in Huntsville Prison after a plea bargain to avoid the death penalty. He escaped after serving under 3 yrs. Returned to MI, left 13 yrs of victims there. He then returned to California, appeared in these movies and series. He died of cancer, alone, broke in a bug-infested rooming house. Just how he deserved to pass, just 37 yrs late!
