Héctor Enrique Urban Astete (b. 1971) is a Chilean farmer from Ercilla, Araucanía Region. He was elected a Constitutional Council member for the Republican Party in the 7 May 2023 election, being the candidate who obtained most votes in his district. Following this, his house in Ercilla was attacked with gunfire. The same night of the attack, 9 May, the car of Urban's father and a police station in Ercilla were also attacked with gunfire. The identity of the assailants is unknown. He lives in what is known as the "red zone" (Spanish: Zona Roja) of the Mapuche conflict. In particular, Urban has been involved in legal conflicts with people from the neighboring Mapuche communities of Temucuicui.
