Captain Herbert Richard Browne (Lushai: Hmaireka, lit. 'pinched face', 11 October 1858 – 9 September 1890) was a British military officer and the first political officer of the North Lushai Hills. Browne was tasked with pacifying the Lushai Hills until he was betrayed by Khalkam and killed on transit to Changsil.
