Hugo Cabrera (c. October 23, 1953 – 23 March 2021) was a Dominican-American professional basketball player born in the Dominican Republic. He moved to New York City when he was 9 years old with his mother Bolivia Lora. He attended P.S. 75, Joan of Arch Junior High School and Brandeis High School. He attended East Texas State University from 1972 to 1976 on a basketball scholarship. He was placed in their Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009. Cabrera was married three times and had three children.
