Darling started writing Amazing Airmen ISBN 978-1-55488-424-7 after his newspaper published a story he wrote about his uncle, George Darling, a bomb-aimer on a Halifax bomber shot down by a German pilot. Darling then spent six years doing research and interviewing veterans in Canadian cities as well as in England, France and the United States. Amazing Airmen is Darling's second book.
