Imamul Aroos (1816–1898) also known Mappillai Lebbai Alim was scholar, writer, poet, preacher and reformer. He was one notable contributor for Arwi (Arabic Tamil) literature. He also founder of Aroosiyatul Qadiriya tariqa (branch of qadiri Sufi order).
