Drs. Irzen Hawer (born in Padang Panjang, West Sumatra, 1960) is an Indonesian novelist and short story writer, currently working as a teacher at a high school in Batipuh, Tanah Datar, West Sumatra. From his hometown, Irzen completed five novels, each around 300 pages, within three years (2009–2011). His first novel, Love in the City of the Porch, was published in 2010, followed by several others, including Prose Love in the City of the Porch (July 2011), Eclipse in the City of the Porch (November 2011), Virtuous Girl (2012), and a religious novel.
