Jaakko Valtanen (9 February 1925 – 17 January 2024) was a Finnish general. He was the former Chief of Defence of the Finnish Defence Forces from 1983 to 1990. He was the last Finnish Chief of Defence to have served in the Continuation War. He has been the first guest to greet the President of Finland in the annual Independence Day Receptions since 2016.
