Jack York (fl. 1800) was a Canadian slave in the Western District who supposedly broke into a white woman named Ruth Tufflemier's cabin and raped her. He was tried before Justice William Dummer Powell and was found guilty. Powell sentenced him to death, but his sentence was soon reduced. He was not executed, and he escaped. He disappeared after his escape.
