James Peter Brokenshire (8 January 1968 – 7 October 2021) was a British politician who served as Minister of State for Security at the Home Office from 2020 to 2021. A member of the Conservative Party, he previously served in Theresa May's Cabinet as Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government from 2018 to 2019 and Northern Ireland Secretary from 2016 to 2018. Brokenshire was a Member of Parliament (MP) for Old Bexley and Sidcup from the 2010 general election until his death.
