Janelle K. Sarauw is a U.S. Virgin Islander politician and former educator who served as senator in the Legislature of the Virgin Islands from the St. Thomas-St. John District, from 2017 to 2023. She became the first openly gay woman and youngest woman to serve in the territory’s legislature. In 2022, Sarauw ran for Lieutenant Governor in the general election.
