Ruban Canistus Jayalath Jayawardena (Dr. Jayalath Jayawardena) MP (16 August 1953 – 30 May 2013) was a medical doctor who was elected to the Parliament of Sri Lanka for the opposition United National Party (UNP) in 1994. Dr.Jayawardena was known as a human rights activist. Dr. Jayawardena is also popular for his sheer commitment and loyalty for the UNP.
