Jessica Straus is a sculptor working in the Boston area. Her primary medium is carved and painted wood, although she sometimes incorporates found objects, wire, natural fibers, and other materials in her work. She is represented by the Boston Sculptors Gallery and the Clark Gallery in Lincoln, MA. She has shown her sculptures at numerous galleries and museums including the DeCordova Museum, the Addison Gallery of American Art, the Danforth Museum, the Duxbury Art Museum, the Berkshire Art Museum, the Fitchburg Museum, and the Fuller Craft Museum. She has received a Massachusetts Cultural Council grant and a Berkshire Taconic Foundation grant. Straus was educated at Brown University, Kansas City Art Institute, and Cranbrook Academy of Art. She teaches sculpture and drawing at Concord Academy, in Concord, Massachusetts.
