James Daniel Mangan (September 24, 1929 – July 19, 2007) was an American professional baseball player. He was a backup catcher in Major League Baseball who played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Giants between 1952
and 1956. Listed at 5 feet 10 inches (1.78 m) and 190 pounds (86 kg), Mangan batted and threw right-handed. He was born in San Francisco, attended St. Ignatius College Preparatory and the University of Santa Clara, and graduated from the University of San Francisco.
