James Michael Peterik ( PEE-tÉ™-rik; born November 11, 1950) is an American musician, singer and songwriter. He is best known as the founder of the band Survivor, as vocalist and songwriter of "Vehicle" by the Ides of March, and as co-writer of the anthem "Eye of the Tiger", the theme from the 1982 film Rocky III.
