In 1991 when she was in her late 30s, she met Alexander Thynn, the Marquess of Bath, at a party thrown by one of his 70-odd 'wifelets' — his sizeable posse of mistresses.
Within weeks Jo Jo had moved with her three children to a cottage on his Longleat estate where she was surrounded by the wifelets, who became her friends.
In 1992, she even became pregnant by the Marquess, though the pregnancy was ectopic, and she lost the child.
She and her children lived at his estate until 1996.
