Joan Thorsen's marriage to her college sweetheart fell apart by mid 1943, as he was away at war and she was making her way in Hollywood. She started to date eligible Hollywood bachelors, like George Raft and Sherman Fairchild. Raft was even semi serious with her, dating her for a few months.
