Joseph Mathias Kovacs (born June 28, 1989) is an American track and field athlete who competes in the shot put and has a personal record of 22.91 meters outdoors and 21.46 meters indoors. He won gold medals at the 2015 and 2019 World Championships.
He won silver medals at the 2017 World Championships and the 2016 Olympics. His personal best of 22.91 metres, which ties him for the third best competitor in the shot put event, is the longest throw since 1990.
