John C. Wright is an American author and early pioneer of America's Great loop. Best known in the trades as Capt. John. His first documented voyage around the Loop was completed in 1971. He is best known for his books about living aboard and cruising America's Great Loop. His best selling books include "The Looper's Companion Guide", which earned him the 2019 #1 Best Seller and Book of the Year in non-fiction genre of the Nautical Market. His other Best Sellers include "Once Around Is Not Enough" and "America's Great Loop & Beyond". Capt. John also maintains a popular website about living aboard and cruising America's Great Loop. Publishers Weekly said he "may be this century's most influential author in the non-fiction genre of the Nautical Market."
