John Couch is an American businessman most famous for having directed the group at Apple Computer that developed the Lisa computer. He began his career in 1972 as a software engineer at Hewlett-Packard. In 1978 he joined Apple as Director of New Products reporting to Steve Jobs, and the next year he was asked to take over the POS, or "Personal Office Systems" group, which had been charged with developing the Apple Lisa. He ran the Lisa division through launch.
