The marriage of Barbara Thornton Wieland, daughter of Mr and Mrs. D. Alexander Wieland of Philadelphia, to John Francis Lehman Jr., deputy director of the United States Arms Control and Disarmament Agency, took place in Philadelphia yesterday afternoon. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lehman of Glenside, Pa. The Rev. Tom T. Edwards performed the ceremony in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Chestnut Hill.
The bride, an alumna of the Springside School, received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1972 from the Moore College of Art. Her father is a lawyer.
The bridegroom, an alumnus of LaSalle College High School and St. Joseph's College, both in Philadelphia, received B.A. and M.A. degrees in international law and diplomacy from Cambridge University in England and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in international relations from the University of Pennsylvania. His father is plant manager with the Continental Can Company in Paoli, Pa.
