John Higgins (born 1940) Was a former Irish international lawn and indoor bowler. He took up bowls at an early age and was a natural. A one club man he plied his trade with YRCD bowling club through all of his career. Since John's death the CD Hall as it is affectionately known has been renovated and also incorporates the "HUBB Community Resource Centre". Where a mural proudly stands of John playing bowls for his beloved club.
