Breakup
Jon Semira confirmed that “it has been a while” since his breakup with Filipino-British actress Yassi Pressman, as he dismissed speculations that there was a third party in their relationship.
The Canada-based entrepreneur disclosed this through a statement released on his and the actress’ respective Instagram pages on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023.
“After an amazing run, Yass and I have decided to part ways. We look to move on to our next phase in life in peace and with the support of our family and friends,” Semira said.
“It’s been a while since the breakup. It was a decision made from the both of us, and us only. The third party rumors are false,” he stressed, apparently referring to the speculations which stemmed from recent sightings of Pressman together with Camarines Sur Gov. Luigi Villafuerte.
Semira then described his previous relationship with Pressman as “beautiful,” and asked the public to let the pair deal with the breakup “in private.”
“We wish each other the best and will always appreciate what we had. Our relationship was beautiful and we are both coming out better people because of it,” he stated. “We ask that you let us deal with this in private as we move forward from this.”

A marriage proposal video that features businessman Jon Semira and Filipino-British actress Yassi Pressman trended on social media after the two confirmed their breakup.
In the 10-minute video, Jon proposes to Yassi in Rancho Bernardo, Bataan.
Jon narrated how Yassi changed his life upon meeting her in Canada in 2017.
"Me and Yas have been together for over five years now. We met in Toronto. Yeah, it was love at first sight, to be honest," Jon shared in the video.
According to him, they tried maintaining the long-distance relationship for a year, before he decided to finally move to the Philippines to be with Yassi.
"This is our life," Jon told Yassi in the video.
“July 27, 2017 we met for the first time and you changed my life,” he said.
"As long as I can remember, babe, I've been leaving messages for you on mirrors. I think it's my way of saying that I see you from day one, it's always been you... You made it so easy for me to love every version of you," he added.
Jon said his love for Yassi is like a "life hack" or a "cheat code."
"It gives me superhuman strength. And it gives me energy and drive and motivation and belief that you can, I can do anything," Jon said.
“Our love is such a powerful feeling that I don't take for granted and I'm thankful for every day. I want this forever."
Jon then asked: "Yassi, make me the happiest, luckiest, smartest man in this universe... Yass, will you marry me? Please don't leave me hanging!"
Yassi, who was already crying, nodded before saying yes.
The two celebrated the milestone with hugs and kisses.
In the latter part of the clip, Yassi admitted she was surprised with Jon's proposal.
"Never ko nakuha mga clues. I didn't know anything," was how she put it.
The actress-dancer said she's "overwhelmed with the effort."
"'Why me? I'm worthy enough for?'" she recalled asking herself at that moment.
"If you guys get to know this guy, talaga, so loving, so caring, so detailed. Always there. Wala akong marereklamo talaga. So I'm very lucky."
