Stordahl married singer June Hutton (of the Pied Pipers) in 1951. Stordahl died in 1963 at the age of fifty of cancer in Encino, California. He was interred in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale, California. His wife June Hutton, who died in 1973, is interred next to him.
