K. S. Thurai (Tamil: கி.செ.துரை) is a Tamil author, journalist, film director and screenwriter, working in the Tamil film industry in Europe. He made his directorial debut with the Tamil film Pookkal in 2004, which along with the Tamil film Ilampuyal (2009) and Uyirvarai Iniththaai (2015), are considered to be three important milestones in European Tamil films. His films have been described as a "middle path" between parallel and commercial cinema, revolving around social themes and relationships.
