Abughazaleh rose to prominence while working at Media Matters for America, where she gained popularity for her criticism of Fox News personality Tucker Carlson. Abughazaleh's writing has been published by Mother Jones and The New Republic. In March 2025, she announced her campaign for the United States House of Representatives in Illinois's 9th congressional district.
