Kathy Shull Abascal BSc, JD, RH(AHG) is a practicing herbalist, teacher, and writer. After spending some of her early years in Sweden, she went on to obtain a degree in neurobiology with minors in biochemistry and French from the University of California, Berkeley. She obtained her law degree from University of California, Hastings College of Law in San Francisco and worked as a research attorney at the California Court of Appeal for a number of years and then went into private practice specializing in complex consumer litigation. For example, cases were litigated regarding excessive banking fees, an issue that continues to resonate today with banking customers.
