It looks like 2017 is already shaping up to be a huge year for Kelsea Ballerini. The country singer is headed to the Grammys (where she’s nominated!), and she’s probably heading down the aisle too. Her boyfriend of nine months, Australian musician Morgan Evans, proposed on Christmas morning, Ballerini announced on social media — and of course she said, Yeah Boy.
Ballerini shared a closer look at her engagement ring with PeopleStyle, a design Evans was very involved in.
“I had the ring custom made with a diamond I picked from a local designer here in Nashville,” Evans, 31, shares exclusively with PeopleStyle of the stunning cushion-cut diamond surrounded by a halo of smaller diamonds on a diamond band. “I wanted it to be classic and beautiful, like her.”

The country star, 23, gushed over the romantic proposal on Instagram Sunday, writing, “This morning, 9 months and 13 days later, he got down on one knee in the kitchen while I was burning pancakes and asked me to marry him. Loving him has been the greatest gift of my life. And now I get to do it for life. #HECALLEDDIBS.”
On Monday, she shared a Boomerang drinking from a mug that appropriately read: “Does this ring make me look engaged?”
