Lady Gaga met Luc Carl while studying music at NYU in 2005. Going by her birth name, Stefani Germanotta, Gaga fell in with the New York rock music scene and hung out with Luc at bars and clubs in the Lower East Side. 2008. After dating on and off for a few years, Gaga and Luc finally called their relationship off just as she began to rebrand herself as an eccentric pop star. July 2010: Gaga meets back up with Luc while visiting New York City. Now an established pop star, the tabloids begin to speculate if Gaga will get back together with her old love. Late July 2010. Luc breaks up with his actress girlfriend (she appeared on an episode of 'Law & Order: SVU') and begins to shack up with Gaga. Alex sells her story to the tabloids who paint Gaga as a homewrecker. August 2010. After only a month of dating, Gaga and Luc begin to battle rumors that he is cheating on her with another woman. Gaga denies that the two have broken up. May 2011. After signing a book deal for 'The Drunk Diet,' a book about how to lose weight by getting drunk, Luc and Gaga call it quits for good. Gaga confirms that she doesn't have a boyfriend on 'The Graham Norton Show' in May 2011.
