Another baby for this Backstreet Boy! Nick Carter and Lauren Kitt’s third child arrived on Wednesday, April 21, the couple exclusively revealed to Us Weekly.
“We are proud to announce that our baby has officially arrived,” the singer told Us on Thursday, April 22. “But as a parent knows all too well, sometimes things don’t turn out how you plan it. We have been experiencing some minor complications, but things are improving after the first night.”
Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter and his wife, Lauren Kitt, have chosen Pearl for their 6-week-old daughter.
Meet Pearl! Nick Carter and Lauren Kitt have finally shared the name of their third child one month after she was born.
Pearl, born on April 21, joined brother Odin, 5, and 20-month-old sister, Saoirse.
“Funny enough, that (Pearl) was the name Lauren wanted to give to [our eldest daughter] Saoirse,” Carter, 41, told Us Weekly. “Essentially, we gave up on the name, but Lauren liked Pearl. Then we discovered that we were going to have another baby. That’s when I was like, ‘Listen, let’s go with what you wanted.’ So she became Pearl.”
Pearl was a top 25 name in the late nineteenth century, but then it cooled for many years, according to Nameberry.com. It re-entered the top 1000 in 2010.
Kitt was drawn to the moniker because of how easily it rolls off the tongue.
“We needed something easier to say than Saoirse,” she said.
On April 22, Carter announced the birth of their youngest child on Twitter, revealing that she had “been experiencing some minor complications” during her arrival. But one week later, they took their new daughter home to meet siblings Odin and Saoirse.
The boy band member also shared an Instagram photo of himself looking visibly distressed in a surgical cap and scrubs.
“Yes, I’m a believer. I ask God to give us strength to protect mommy and baby,” he captioned the image.
Five days later, Kitt and Pearl were discharged from the hospital.
“Ok everyone, I wanted to let you know that finally, we are home safe and sound,” Carter wrote on Twitter. “Baby is doing so much better.”
Carter also introduced Pearl to his 1.6 million Instagram followers. "Here’s she is. ❤️ We are proud to finally give you all a first glance of our little princess Pearl. ❤️," he captioned a video of the adorable baby sleeping on his chest.
Kitt, 38, joked that they chose a name with one syllable because "we needed something easier to say than Saoirse."
After watching 2014's Song of the Sea, the couple chose Saoirse's moniker. "I fell in love with this little girl character who was, like, the little sister of this older blonde boy," Carter explained. "They were brother and sister, and her name is Saoirse."
Kitt said the toddler is "lovely and talkative for her age. "She’s just a joy to be around right now, watching her explore, discover, and learn."
She's also following in her father's footsteps. "Saoirse's into music and loves to dance," the House of Carters alum gushed. She loves '80s music like me, so I can always put it on. She’ll sit there and watch these old music videos."
Meanwhile, Odin is a "nature boy." Carter says their eldest "loves bugs and science projects and is analytic." "I would try to put music videos on, but he’s like, 'Eh, whatever.' Or if I try playing sports with him, he’s like, 'Eh, whatever.'"
In January, the Masked Singer alum took to social media to announce that the personal trainer, 37, was pregnant and that they were expecting with baby No. 3, a third child — but did not anticipate conceiving naturally again after "multiple miscarriages." “Sometimes life blesses you with little surprises,” the New York native captioned an Instagram video showing an ultrasound.
"I didn't have any symptoms; I didn't have anything indicating that I was pregnant," Kitt told PEOPLE after she learned she was five and a half months pregnant. "I thought I had a tumor because there was just no way that I could be pregnant, from just my medical history and the things I did to ensure that I just had my two children."
Carter, the father of son Odin, 4, and daughter Saoirse, 18 months, couldn’t “believe there [was] another one on the way,” he wrote via Instagram the following month. “Always watching over them.”
After six years of dating, the Grammy nominee and Kitt tied the knot in April 2014 in Santa Barbara, California. In October of the following year, they announced they were “happy and overjoyed” to start a family.
Odin arrived in April 2016. “One month of pure oxytocin,” Kitt captioned her baby boy’s Instagram debut. Thank you, Odin, for choosing us to be your parents. We are forever changed and immensely grateful for you.”
The little one learned he would become a big brother three years later. “Thank You, God, for giving us the greatest gift we could ever ask for. #pregnant,” the “Quit Playing Games” singer captioned his May 2019 Instagram reveal.
The fitness guru added with her own post: “Day at the park in Amsterdam turned into an impromptu family photo op and baby bump reveal. Loving these moments with my boys.”
The Los Angeles native gave birth to Saoirse in October 2019, and Us Weekly exclusively revealed her name at the time. “Mom and daughter are doing great,” a rep for the couple told Us.
Between their two eldest children, the actress suffered multiple miscarriages. “God give us peace during this time,” Carter tweeted after a September 2018 pregnancy loss. “I was really looking forward to meeting her after 3 months. I’m heartbroken.”
During a Dancing With the Stars episode, Kitt said that her husband had a “hard” time with their multiple miscarriages. “Just watching him get so excited about something and then to just see him so hurt, that was hard,” Kitt said in 2015.

Their bundle of joy is named Saoirse Reign Carter. In the little one’s first photos with her parents, she slept peacefully in the Backstreet Boys member’s arms while wrapped in a brown blanket.
Us broke the news that the singer, 39, and the fitness guru, 36, welcomed their second child on October 2. (Big brother Odin, 3, was born in 2016.) “Mom and daughter are doing great,” a rep from EMC Bowery confirmed to Us at the time.
The New York native shared a close-up pic of his baby girl’s hand wrapped around his finger on Instagram. “Daddy’s little girl,” Carter captioned the sweet shot.
He and the Pro Derm Aesthetics cofounder announced in May that they were expecting baby No. 2. “Thank You, God for giving us the greatest gift we could ever ask for. #happiness #family,” the Grammy nominee captioned the Instagram reveal then.

While the pair kept the name under wraps throughout Lauren’s pregnancy, Nick did tell ET earlier this month that they had picked out a powerful moniker for their first child. Odin, in Germanic mythology, is a "widely revered god."
"It's a very strong name," the 36-year-old singer revealed to ET's Katie Krause at the April 1 premiere of his Syfy film, Dead7. "We can't say the name yet. My wife has instructed me to keep it under wraps, but we have a name."
While discussing how excited he was to become a parent, the Backstreet Boys star also gushed about his eagerness to see his wife take on motherhood.

According to UsMagazine.com, the 34-year-old Everybody hitmaker was noticeably absent from the ceremony. However, 26-year-old Angel's twin brother, Aaron Carter, was on hand to escort her.
But, according to '''Angel Carter''', there's no bad blood.

It needs to be clarified who planned their event first. Neither Aaron nor Angel's reps would say if Nick was invited to the wedding, and Nick hasn't commented on the situation.

When Nick Carter married Lauren Kitt on Saturday, over the weekend, his fellow Backstreet Boys band members were there to help celebrate his special day and support him.
Behind him, his band - AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, and Kevin Richardson - had his back.
"These guys are my family," Nick says of bandmates Howie Dorough, a latter wedding party member, Kevin Richardson, A.J. McLean, and Brian Littrell.
Bandmate A.J. McLean, expressing the overwhelming joy that many fans felt, shared his happiness on Instagram, stating, "The wedding that most of u thought would never happen, but I'm so happy it is finally!" This heartfelt reaction from A.J. resonates with the feelings of many fans, making the wedding even more special.
"It was bittersweet," A.J. McLean, 36, told PEOPLE. "We're so, so proud of him. He's been through hell and back as we all have, once in our life here or there."
The Backstreet Boys were a dynamic boy band until the early to mid-2000s when they took a hiatus. In 2009, Carter admitted to past drug use and alcohol addiction.
McLean added that Saturday's Santa Barbara wedding was "beautiful, rustic," and "minimal."

VH1 filmed Carter's entire wedding, including footage of the '90s boy band reunion, which will be made into a made-for-TV special later this year as part of an upcoming VH1 series called I 'Heart' Nick Carter. In addition, the couple has co-starred in a series of fitness webisodes called "Kitt Fitt.". We can't wait to watch it!
The guys from the Backstreet Boys had a big weekend. The night after the wedding, McLean joined bandmate Brian Littrell at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards, where they accepted the golden popcorn on behalf of the boy band for Best Musical Moment, which took place during Seth Rogen and James Franco's summer hit, "This Is The End."
The Backstreet Boys crooner tweeted a simple message for the bride late Sunday, "Happiest day of my life 4-12-2014 I married my best friend and woman of my dreams. "Aaron didn't blow anything off and would have been there -- it's a real bummer for him," Honig said. "He feels bad he missed the wedding."
Unfortunately, his younger brother and "House of Carters" co-star, '''Aaron Carter''', 26, didn't make it to the gorgeous ceremony in Santa Barbara, Calif., over the weekend—but not for lack of trying. Still, his representative tells PEOPLE that prior commitments and plane troubles were the cause of the flight delays.
"Aaron had signed a contractual obligation to appear in the Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington, D.C., before Nick set his wedding date, and there was no sibling rivalry. However, although he was obligated to fulfill his contract, Aaron still wanted to make the wedding," the celeb's rep Steve Honig tells E! News. "[We] realized there was a problem and figured out he could perform and get him to Santa Barbara so he would be there for the last two hours of the reception."
Unfortunately, the younger Carter's US Airways plane was ultimately grounded due to mechanical problems, preventing him from appearing.
"A team of six people worked to put together a plan to get him to Santa Barbara by the reception so he could at least participate in the celebration. Tickets were purchased, and the plan was in place. It was a major operation to get him there in time," adds Honig.
"Unfortunately, he was on his way when his US Airways plane experienced mechanical difficulties in Pittsburgh, and they became grounded there. So, he never made it. Aaron changed planes several times to get into Santa Barbara. He was legitimately busting his ass to make it to his brother's wedding. He felt awful and had every intention of being there. Aaron didn't blow anything off and would have been there – it's a real bummer for him. He feels bad he missed the wedding."
Aaron also posted a photo of himself stuck on the plane on Instagram with the caption, "Really pissed off that I missed my brother's wedding today. I hope he doesn't hate me... I tried to get there... I'm sorry, bro @nickcarter#technicalProblems."
However, not everything went as planned. "My family's always had a complicated dynamic," admits Nick, who shares that though he was supposed to have five groomsmen, his pop star brother '''Aaron''' texted him last minute that he couldn't make it. "At the end of the day, the people who love us wanted to be there, and that's what matters," Nick tells ''In Touch''.
Although Aaron's rep insisted, he had a work engagement on the East Coast. He had hoped to make it to the reception until a delayed flight made that impossible; Nick had skipped his sister Angel's wedding earlier this year.
Now he can't wait to start his own family with Lauren - after they return from a mini honeymoon in the Florida Keys (with a more extended trip to Morocco planned for after BSB's U.S. tour ends this fall). "She's my lover and my best friend," Nick gushes. "She showed me that true love does exist."

He has shown his girlfriend the shape of his heart by formally putting a ring on it. One less boy bander is available to date now that the 1990s heartthrob planned the perfect proposal for his girlfriend of over four years '''Lauren Kitt''', on Feb. 20. Their love story, which began when they met through mutual friends in 2008, has been a rollercoaster of adventures, from romantic getaways to supporting each other's careers. They have been through ups and downs, but their love has only grown stronger over the years.
The Backstreet Boys singer, 33, is engaged to his 29-year-old now-fiancée, the fitness expert/actress, after traveling by boat to a small, secluded island in the Florida Keys to pop the question during a recent trip, "People" magazine reports. The island, known for its pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters, provided the perfect backdrop for this romantic moment.
While on tour in Australia, separated from his love for the longest time since they met, Nick realized he couldn't live without her. "I wasn't expecting it. It just felt very surreal," explains a thrilled Kitt. "We are both so happy in love right now and on cloud nine." It's good that Kitt is a fitness specialist and an actress who was maybe in talks to become a WWE Diva late last year. She tweets things like, "Working on building my abs and lower body. Later Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training...long day!" That's some heavy lifting.

She isn't involved in the entertainment industry besides the new reality show. Her journey began with a worker’s permit to work at Starbucks as a barista. Then, as a veterinary technician specialist, she demonstrated her adaptability by living in Tokyo for three years after college at 18, and then in Paris at 21, all while working as a veterinary technician. This adaptability was further showcased when she moved back to the States in San Francisco at 25 to pursue a degree in nutrition. “I was trying to find my way and figure out what I wanted to do,” Lauren told Half-Full Magazine.

On October 20, 2008, Nick Carter never had to wonder what his family would think of his girlfriend, fitness expert, and actress Lauren Kitt after they began dating in 2009. That's because it was Nick's sister, Angel, and brother, Aaron, who intuitively knew the couple would enjoy each other's company and persuaded them to meet. The friend, who was dating Angel’s late twin brother, Aaron, at the time, drove her to her now-husband’s apartment for their first meeting. '''Nick:''' My sister and family had been trying to introduce me to her. They knew Lauren before I did, and they all hung out. "When I first met Lauren, I was in a place where I wanted to stop any drinking and drugs," said Nick. "I wanted to adopt a whole new lifestyle of fitness and health. And at the time — and they say this happens all the time — I didn't want a relationship. '''Nick:''' She was different, but you could tell she had gone through a lot in life, and that's what I shared with her. I've experienced so many other things, and she has had a tough life, too, with her family and upbringing. So, it was like we spoke the same language.

Kitt sometimes had it challenging. Like Carter, she had a rough past with her family, as her mother was in and out of jail. She was also overweight when she met Carter, but figured out a great fitness routine that works for her, and she maintains a fantastic figure.
"And six years later, now I have someone I truly love and care about, want to be the best for, that I want to be alive for. I want to be healthy. I want to be there for (Lauren) and be accountable to her, so she has been my rock. We do fitness together, eat healthily, and play video games together. She's my best friend, so it's nice to have a best friend that is positive and a great influence."

'''Lauren:''' Going back to him being vulnerable and emotional ... he's the most loving person I've met, and to me, that was odd because he didn't come from a background of lots of love, attention, support, and protection. The next day, her friend was there when she arrived late. He got her number since he had to sing the national anthem at the MLB World Series in New York (“Can I have your number? Is it okay if I call you when I come back?” “Yeah.”) they leave, and she discusses how they hung out, he’s super nice, and they might see each other again, and they did four days later when he came over to her place on Ocean Avenue and Melrose Avenue from the airport in 5 minutes, took it slow, getting to know each other before they got there and two weeks later he called her while on tour in Canada and invited her to meet him (“Hey do you wanna meet me on tour?” “Okay, what does that mean?” “I’m in Canada. I’m staying at this hotel. This is my room number, and I’ll leave a key for you at the front desk.”) she flew there with her own money and wanted to show that she wanted to be there, not the opposite, but they hung out, and they wanted to move to the next step. As it grew more serious, Lauren recalled on the show's first episode that she had to decide between continuing her career and giving the romance a chance.
“Nick is on tour. He’s gone 300 days out of the year, and to have a relationship and make it work, I had to quit my job and be with him,” said Lauren, now 31. “Now, all of a sudden, I depend on this man to care for and provide for me.”
