Laurence Jerome Lesh (1892–1965) was an early aviator, a protégé of Octave Chanute, best known for building and flying gliders in the early part of the 20th century. Lesh was born on October 29, 1892, in Fort Madison, Iowa, and moved to Montreal as a young man. He married Gail McCreary and had one child, Laurende J. He moved to Fort Myers, Florida in the 1930s, where he lived for the rest of his life.
