Lian Paz got everyone's attention when she spilled the beans on her split-up with husband Paolo Contis.
Although rumors were rife about their relationship being on the rocks, her admission was still unexpected because, not too long ago, Paolo admitted for the first time that they were already wed in civil rites. Their live-in arrangement had been sanctified before the courts.
Lian, who has two young daughters with Paolo, pointed to their "differences" as a reason for her breakup with the former child actor.
"According to him po kasi, according to Pao, we've been both unhappy, na siguro hindi namin alam. Siguro sa mga differences namin o sa mga nangyayari ngayon na changes sa buhay namin." She revealed enough to make things, wittingly or unwittingly, unflattering for Paolo.
At one point, Paolo began to answer back, saying that Lian and her family benefited from his earnings when the going was good and that he was disappointed because, at a low point in his career, she was badmouthing him. Then, maybe upon the advice of his manager Lolit Solis, he shut up.
There remain strong rumors, however, that money—or more specifically, the lack of it—is in fact a big reason for the breakup.
