On June 16, 1951, socialite Lisa Barclay Bigelow married Loyall Howard Edge, the son of former New Jersey Governor Walter E. Edge, in a highly publicized high-society wedding in Milton, Massachusetts. They split by 1959, with Edge getting engaged to Margaret Piggot and Lisa dating writer/explorer Peter Matthiessen.
