Robert Hanson, the businessman and nightclub-loving son of the late industrialist Lord Hanson, has sold a home in California that he inherited from his father, who died in 2004. Local sources say Hanson Jr got £1.6m for the 1980s spread, which has four bedrooms in the main house, plus two in a guesthouse, and tennis courts. Known for squiring ravishing women – he was engaged briefly to the underwear model Sophie Anderton – Hanson put Kimber Cottage, the family’s nine-bedroom Berkshire home of 40 years, on the market for £2m a couple of years ago.
