LOUIS DaPRON was tap dancer choreographer and teacher Louis DaPron is one of the finest tap dancers to lace a pair of tap shoes. He was signed by Paramount Pictures ass a young star in 1935 and was with them for a year and a half. Following taht, he trouped as a dancer playing the Paramount and Loew's State in New York, and most of the better theaters and clubs around the East and Mis-west. On returning to California he became an assistant dance director to LeRoy Prinz, again at Paramount. After five pictures with LeRoy, Louis began to get his own credits. The first was for Ruby Keeler, whose chram and talent was recently rediscovered in the Brodway hit "No,No Nanette". There followed thirteen movies with Donald O'Connor and then on into television. He has directed the dances in over three hundred prime time T.V. shows including the Colgate Comedy Hour, Texaco Star Theater, The Perry Como Sow, The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, The Jerry Lewis Show and several Hollywood Palace Shows. His latest T.V. credit was the Bob Hope Sow last January and his latest movie credit is tentatively titled "Funny Lady", a sequel to "Funny Girl". If you were to list the greats and near greats Louis has taught or staged, it would read like a "Who's Who of Show Business" from comedy to opera --Donald O'Connor, Ken Berry, Ann Miller, Judy Garland, Ann Sheridan and Doris Day, Even Gower Champion took a few lessons at one time, and Lisa Kirk is studying with him now. Yes, a fabulous dancer, choreographer and teacher (now teaching in his own studio in Canoga Park, California), Louis, is one of the best. We are honored to bring his technique, routines and music to teaching profession.
