Lukas Zpira (born 29 April 1966) is a French conceptual and multi-facetted artist and curator. He is most notable for his work in the area of body modification, which has included contributions to '3D body modification' such as subdermal and transdermal implants, he is also one of the pioneer of scarification and branding modifications. An autodidact, philosopher, photographer, performer and documentary maker, he has also produced a number of books of his photographic works, as well as documentaries "No Body Is Perfect" &  "Vampyres - the movie", a documentary on vampyres with Laurent Coureau (laspirale.org), and he is currently working on his new project "The Chaos Chronicles". These chronicles are an ongoing artistic research project that began in January 2011 with a blog. Over 10 years of nomadism and more than 25 visited countries, the Chaos Chronicles is the expansion of his already existing works. Consisting of essays, interviews, photography & videos, these chronicles are a series of encounters, philosophical reflection, a vision of the world through counter cultures and artistic avant-gardes which lead to the curating of the Borderline Biennale at the Abode of Chaos during the summer of 2011.
